Holiday Open House

Time just seems to fly, doesn't it?  My last post was about graduation and now I am posting about Christmas!!  I didn't mean to skip summer, start of school, Halloween, etc.  Just busy and to be honest, forgot about updating this blog.  Guess I would never succeed as a full-time blogger!!

Anyway, I am really excited to share with you that I am having Open House this week!  I did a craft booth at the Wauseon Chili Fest back in September and although we had good traffic and a perfect day weather-wise, I brought a lot of boards home.  My mother-in-law suggested I do an Open House at my own home.  Great idea in that I don't have to pack up everything and set up and worry about weather and then tear down and unpack!  I called a couple other ladies who make crafts and food to see if they would be interested.  They were!!

So here it is:

And while you are in the neighborhood, be sure to stop in at Stella Leona Chocolates and Weeping Willow in downtown Pettisville.  They are also having Open Houses.

Hope to see you tomorrow!!!

Office Makeover

We recently rearranged our office so that I have a better space for my Silhouette cutting machine.  I always forget to take the "before" pictures!  But I can explain what we have done.  The walls had been repainted a couple years ago and I added the border then.  I like the colors - feels warm.

Originally my desk was in the northeast corner so we moved it to the southwest corner because of the little "nook" area.  I was thinking I wanted an "L" shaped desk so we had King Lumber cut a board that would fit exactly into that nook area.

This is what the board looked like from the bottom.  To make it the right height without having to make the board so thick or having to buy the more expensive legs from IKEA, we had them make some square pieces for each corner.  In this picture I have the leg attachments on and am ready to screw in the actual legs.
Here is the "L" in place!  Fit perfect!!
And here is what my little area looks like!  I love the cozy feel of this nook area. My cutting machine has plenty of room to have the mat go out the back and not have to move things around.  I may add vinyl to my "L" to mark off inches so I don't have to use my ruler when I am cutting a piece of vinyl before putting it on the mat.  Should have thought of that before I varnished the board.  Oh well. Sometimes you figure things out as you go.
This is a cheap bulletin board that I covered with fabric and silver thumbtacks. Was fairly easy to make but my thumb got tired of all the tacks!!
My favorite part of going to Disney World is going to Hollywood Studios and doing the Animation Academy where they have an artist show you how to draw the characters.  I just did a google search to find out what this is called and learned that it CLOSED last July!!  Major bummer for me! :(
This is Peyton's corner (where my desk used to be).  Lynn helped me hang some new shelves that I stained for Peyton to put some of his knicknacks on.  I really like how they turned out.  We are seeing how high we can get with those plastic stacking trays!!  LOL!
And to the left of Peyton's desk is Lynn's desk/area.  It looks like he has the least amount of area (which is probably true) but he also isn't on his computers like we are.  Anyway, this new arrangement seems to be working really good. At least I am very happy having more space to cut my vinyl for my painted boards!
Thanks for taking the tour.
